Playing on the new tables now for about a year, here are my thoughts. Likes:Playing surface - smooth, and lacking the white stripes on the side. Balls - Sticky, lighter and faster. Aesthetics - Chrome, kinda cool, but also kinda Circa 1999... Walls - most people would say im crazy here...a recent VIFA tournament changed the rules to enable players to disregard the "3-wall rule", due to dead walls. I like the deadness, it helps my series...go figger. Dislikes:RODS - They are a joke. While being fast and responsive, they are fragile. On Saturday 4-10-2010, I watched Ryan Harvey hit a front pin. While swinging, the bottom of the Tornado Man smashed into the playing surface. bang. The rod was so ridiculously bent that Macgyver would have had a hard time fixing it. Weight - It's almost lke these things are on the Atkins diet. A good solid defense is constantly jarring the table. something is awry. Bumpers - So far, they have proved completely unreliable. I have seen at least a dozen bumpers split and crack. For as big as a pain in the !@$ it is to fix, it should be more durable(see old bumpers). We only have two tables...they get heavy play...lots of quarters...
