hi guys, Well last weekend went well. It started slow but picked up for the Sat. draw and Sun. events. Some good Ideas were brought up also. One was a rookie only night to bring in some new players. So what we are doing is Tuesdays from 4:30 to 7:00 rookies or beginners can come in and get more comfortable with the game before they come out to play in a regular tourney. That way hopefully they will not be discouraged when you guys pound on them. ;D We will still have our Thurs. night draw as usual unless you would prefer Fri. instead. The reason for the possible change would be to have a few folks who can't play on Thurs due to work but would be willing to come out on Fri. I'll leave this for you guys to decide on what you would prefer. Next is a Sun. singles event starting this weekend at 12:30 sign up and start 1:30. These will every week so we will ready to kick butt at the Oct. event.
Fireball at the Bull Mike Thanks for your support

Mike and the Foosers in the PDX region.
I have a possible suggestion for the Sunday event.
Have a Singles event that would proceed a DOUBLE draw at 4:00.
Here is my thinking. You have 6 or 8 guys that show-up for the Singles event. Okay great, but on two tables that will take 2 hours max. You have 6 guys that stay and 6 more guys come down at 4:00 to play in the Double Draw on two tables. 2 out of 3 on the winners and race to 7 on the losers. Everyone is done by 9-10:00. I believe this will appeal to a lot more people.
An example of this is the Sunday draw in San Jose. Then once a month they do a Shake and Bake to bring out the big dogs.
Later, Brad

All you Foosball promoters, Thank you for running these Tournaments Right now, the are is running the following tournaments to the best of my knowledge Tuesday-Forest Grove, Pool Hall-Tornado (older models) Thursday-Tigard, Blitz-Tornado (newer models) Saturday-Tigard, Blitz-Tornado (newer models
If you guys agree, we can insert the use of the Fireball Tables on non days that do not have existing Tournaments, such as
Sunday, Fireball: Singles @1pm, Doubles @ 4PM (Bull Mt) Monday-None (Perhaps a Beginner Nite 2 Bull Mt) Tuesday, Tornado: DYP @7pm (Forest Grove) Wednesday-None (Perhaps an Amateur Nite @ Bull MT) Thursday, Tornado: DYP @8pm (Blitz) Friday, Fireball: DYP @8pm (Bull Mt) Saturday, Tornado: DYP @8pm (Blitz)
Just a potential schedule. Lots of games for those who are in the Upper AM's to Pro caliber Grooming players with lesser skills A Day for the southerners (OM and company) to get table time
I can't speak for everyone but more options are better for me. Knowing there is more than one location to play on more than 2 nights is huge, especially on non Work nites. I can't be out late and try to rise up for work. That will kill me!
Just think about it, decide, and make it happen.

This is a very workable schedule.
Running it will be a little tough on some. Players are going to need to step in or fill in to help run some of the DYP, Leagues or other events.
The player base is low.
Getting guys in from Nike or other large groups of people will inject the much needed players. Many regions of our country do a poor job in recruiting new players. I think we can build on better grassroots if someone, which is you and I try and do something.
I really think that the Fireball table plays vastly easier for the new player. Many of you agree. Some Players in and out of the region think Tornado is more difficult on the lower player for many different reasons. That doesn't mean staying off the Tornado, it just means that the learning curve is steeper, I know we lose people trying to tackle that curve.
I hope we can promote our game to the younger player through our collective efforts.

Having a night for amateurs is definitely a good idea. It would be awesome to get some of the Nike guys out on the streets playing foosball.
A once a month BYP starting early on a saturday, or sunday would be a great addition to the scene. Guys from all over would make it out for those.
