Where do you see your rating, Froginator? If you really are a 3, then that is a good thing, as you'll be able to team with anybody at the upcoming NW playoff ProAmLimited event!!

The worst thing that could happen is to be ranked higher than you should be. To be ranked lower than you should be is a positive. That way you can sneak up on people and make them say,"huh?" when they play you. I so look forward to the day when I 'get serious'. Issac, you don't leave the middle open a little do you?? lol

And besides that, I'm sure this has been discussed many times but I haven't heard the story. Just why is it that we have these local rankings ? What happened to using the rankings that would used at a Tornado event ?

Hi Keith, there is a list on nwfoosball site, at the left side, near the bottom of the page. I thought Isaac also had a copy here, but don't see it. Isaac? Regarding the need for them, well, I guess there isn't any reason...except that most folks have NO "Tornado ranking", other than the 900 starting point. A lot of them are nowhere close to that yet, while most of the people that play regularly at Home Turf are way above it. The idea for the NW rankings was to provide a way to rate players in our area that don't venture out to the Tornado tourneys. If we're diligent in keeping it updated, soon enough it'll smooth out and be a fair and accurate list. As it is now, there are a number of people that are sure to be misrated. Tough to rate somebody that plays well at Little Italy, but hasn't faced the big dogs at Valhalla's, for example. They might fare pretty well, but until matches like that occur, there will always be discrepancies. This weekend's tourney will offer another opportunity to adjust the list. Hope to see you there.

Harold, Thanks, I thought that was it. I hope to do better than I did at the OR state. See you there.

Hey Portland
What am I ranked as in Oregon? 6-6 ?
I was not able to find a ranking list, although I think Harold did send me a static copy in July.
Any talk of 50's plus in the upcoming Oregon State? NWFoosball.com is too hard to follow to get this kind of information.
I think NWFoosball has lot's of good discussion, but it really is a blog, and that is pretty crummy for information access.

Yo Sac, It seems somebody's wires are crossed or something. I see I'm a 6-6 according to what you down there have me as. But as of almost a year ago, and this does show on the ratings on Pat's site, I have been reassessed as a 6-4, or a 5 overall. I was quite surprised to see this when my curiosity steered me to the ratings on this site. I'm sure Floppy the 10 would gladly enlighten you to what I'm referring to. After all, he was in charge of this project that ended me up as 6-4. This little discrepency should be cleared up be it I end up being a 6 or a 5 from the outcome so there's no hassles should I count on being in certain events and end up ineligible.

AKD, thanks for the reminder, the rankings on the site are outdated and need to be updated.
I'll get one of the paid employees around here to get right on it:)

Yo Sad Sac, No need for the sarcasm youngster! There are no paid employees here. I know that every bit as much as you do. What I don't know is who is in charge of the ratings down there. All I know is that I'm a 5 up here and down there they have me listed as a 6. I plan to play in the Pro/Am event at OSC as an am and then I see where you people have me listed won't allow that. Is it Hutch who is in charge of this? He can look on nwfoosball and find my ratings, 6 forward - 4 goalie - 5 overall which is why I played in all am events at WSO. What makes me any different down there? Is there a lower standard of playing down there or what's the deal. I just want to prevent any controversy when I play down there. I also competed in the am events down there last year. Hopefully this will come to the attention of Hutch or whomever is in charge of this.

I am looking at the rankings and I see that Mike Larson is rated below me. He and his partner beat me and my partner in the Am double finals a couple of years ago at the Oregon state tourny. I am just wondering how this can be? I go up to semi-pro and he stays at AM! Doesn't seem quite right to me!

Bob, Your 5 bars is vastly superior to most AM. Your shot is hard and fast. Mike Larson is a life time rookie.
You're a much better player in terms of fundamentals. Mike and his partner played well that weekend and the goalie blocked your shot.
In my opinion, you are a good player that has the skill set to win at a higher ranking. Mike can not play forward and win at the higher level.
My 2 cents, Brad
